Valley of Dolls

Ayano Tsukimi is one of the last people left in the village of Nagoro, Japan. She placed more than 300 life-sized dolls across the valley over the past ten years. They are meant to remind visitors of those who have died or moved away.

After I shared this story online, it went viral and was featured in media and at festivals around the world. International tourism to the valley has evidently increased because of this film, and I have given interviews about that on Japanese television.
